Tips for Play
Getting Started with Your CATSUMO Wrestler
When first introducing the CATSUMO Wrestler to your cat, give them time to sniff and inspect the puppet while it's still and calm. If your cat seems nervous or unsure, place the puppet in a shared space within your home and let your cat explore it at their own pace. This adjustment period can vary—some cats may warm up in a day, while others may take up to a week.
Once your cat is comfortable, try gently dangling or spinning the puppet without wearing it to encourage curiosity and play. These playful movements help your cat see the puppet as a friend, not a threat. If your cat responds positively—such as by pouncing, batting, or showing interest—you can then move on to wearing and interacting with the puppet more directly.

Playtime Tips After the initial introduction, continue paying close attention to your cat’s reactions, comfort, and level of excitement. Every cat is unique, and discovering their preferred style of play may take a little time. Many cats enjoy a mix of slow, deliberate movements and quick, spontaneous actions—experiment with both to see what gets your cat most engaged. |

Encouraging Natural Play Some cats enjoy playing while lying on their sides or backs—this position lets them tap into natural instincts like bunny kicks, bear hugs, and playful bites. Try using gentle movements and a "push and pull" technique (similar to a yo-yo) to mimic the back-and-forth of a real tussle. Letting your cat take the lead in these moments helps them feel in control, often resulting in longer, more satisfying play sessions. |
